My son and I have been building custom homes in the Los Angeles area for several years. It was on one of our projects, a Mediterranean inspired Villa in the South bay, that we met Harry. He was on the team that designed an awe inspiring 3900 sq ft executive home, complete with a courtyard, fire pit and fountains, and a kitchen / family room combination that made family gatherings inviting. The design was spectacular. Our most recent project brings us to a small coastal community, on Massachusetts’ Northshore. The lot is directly on the ocean, which is a precious commodity on the east coast, yet so close to Boston. Our vision for this home, since it is literally a few feet from the sand, was to create a Coastal Plantation Style home that would complement its New England neighbors.

We interviewed several architects from the greater Boston and Cape Cod areas. This search became futile when most were returning traditional New England style homes in their design approach. Our next step was to travel west and find someone in the South Bay who could deliver our vision. The few designers we interviewed had the right vision, but their costs were not in line with our budget. We needed a more reasonable cost for the design to best match the project. While having coffee at the Coffee Bean in Manhattan Beach one day, our thoughts brought us back to our earlier project, and Harry’s name came up. We researched his latest works throughout the South Bay and seeing his recently completed design of a multi-level 5000sf home in Manhattan Beach, we felt he could fulfill our vision. After connecting with Harry, we explained our needs and budget. It wasn’t long before he presented his ideas and proposal for the design of our project. Prior to starting the design phase, he traveled east to analyze the site. We worked together to perfect the spaces and thus have a truly amazing design. 

Harry’s design was awed and praised by all members of the site plan review board. The neighbors are pleased that the neighborhood will be complimented with this new home that is unique to the east coast and may start a new New England trend.Harry Designs has delivered for us, we are pleased for having selected him, and are grateful he was willing to take on our project nearly 3000 miles away. One final thought, I’ve sat next to Harry when making changes to our project, and I can attest to his ability of navigating the AutoCAD program like no other, he is like an Olympic skater on ice. He flows with grace, precision and ability, which has translated in cost savings.
