Originally built in 1937 in a classic Spanish style, this home underwent a complete remodel to meet current building codes while embracing a modern design aesthetic. The property posed a unique challenge due to its sub standard dimensions of just 30' x 40', with the existing house only offering 1,356 sq. ft. of space. The homeowner sought to expand the home to accommodate his growing family and lifestyle needs, including a new bedroom for his parents and a larger living area for daily living and entertaining. To fulfill these requirements, we creatively designed an additional 300 sq. ft. of living space, while also adding a rooftop deck to provide an ideal entertainment area for hosting guests and unobstructed ocean views. The result is a beautifully reimagined home that blends functionality and modern design elements necessary for today’s lifestyle.
